<p>This week&rsquo;s pick from the Ondine label (<a href="https://www.naxos.com/CatalogueDetail/?id=ODE1060-2" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ODE1060-2</a>) features a short piano movement by Sergei Prokofiev. In 1940, the Bolshoi Theatre commissioned Prokofiev to write a new full-length ballet, <em>Cinderella</em>, preparations for which were cut short by the war, and the work was not premiered until 1945. During the long war years, Prokofiev wrote a number of piano arrangements of numbers from the unperformed ballet. From his 6 Pieces from <em>Cinderella</em>, Op. 102, here&rsquo;s <em>Amoroso</em>.</p>
