Northern Winds album coverBright Sheng is equally a Chinese composer and an American composer. He was born in Shanghai, spent the Cultural Revolution years in a remote Chinese province, then studied in the United States, where he now teaches, and is one of the busiest composers.

His music defies easy labeling, but it’s wonderful sounds have been captivating audiences around the world.
