What awesome music, and yes, so heart-wrenching… I particularly enjoyed the music of Robert Dauber – what he could have done if he had lived a full life! It's good to know this music has been collected and preserved. I really appreciate knowing the stories behind the music – it truly enhances the pieces. I remember a few years ago when my son's high school concert band played “American Elegy”. A wonderful piece yes, but when you know that it was written as a tribute to those who lost there lives in the Columbine HS shooting, it became unforgettable. The kids would cry as they played it – so beautiful and poignant…
Hi Grace, Thanks so much for your wonderfully personal email. Your story about your son's high school band playing American Elegy is a perfect illustration of why music is so, so important. It allows us to express and share thoughts and emotions that most of us could not put into words.
My friend suggested me to visit your blog. Very well explained. I would like to say that it is very interesting to read your blog.

I never knew that was such music. You made me very curious and I will surely listen to some of the songs. Hope that the music isn't all sad, but if it is, it's ok. It would be normal to be so.
